Women’s Lacrosse Snaps Three-Game Winning-Streak
Washington, Pa. – Marymount University’s women’s lacrosse team dropped a 12-7 non-conference contest at Washington & Jefferson on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Saints snap a three-game winning-streak.
Katie Dean led the Saints (3-2) with three goals while Stephanie Flood added a pair. Tancy Weatherford and Lindsay Bullock both also scored for Marymount.
Dean haled in a team-high six draw controls for MU while Bullock added three. Weatherford, Lindsay Quinn and Katie Rossomondo each collected four ground balls.
In goal, Erika Dommes and Lourdes Lanzas combined for seven saves. Lourdes led the way with five off the bench.
Washington & Jefferson (2-0) put the first goal on the board before the Saints responded with four unanswered scores. The Presidents then recorded seven of the next eight goals to close out the half and put a comfortable distance between the two squads the rest of the way.
Courtney Schrock led the Presidents with five goals and Brittney Oake added three.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as they open Capital Athletic Conference play on the road at York (Pa.).
