Men’s Soccer Edged by York
York, Pa. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss to York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints snap a three-game winning-streak with the defeat.
York scored what would prove to be the game-winner in the 54th minute as Justin Facer headed in a rebound shot from Kemal Nuspahic that careened of the crossbar.
Marymount (5-7-1, 1-3-1 CAC) nearly answered six minutes later but Philippe Millogo’s rocket from 25 yards out was smothered by the Spartans keeper. The Saints had one last chance with six minutes to go, playing a beautiful cross into the box before the YCP netminder corralled the pass in traffic while getting hit.
William Brahmstedt put together a strong performance between the pipes for MU, collecting four saves in the loss.
The Saints return to the field on Tuesday, October 12, on the road at Stevenson in CAC action.
