As one of the 25 members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV), Marymount University invites prospective undergraduate students and their families to take advantage of the Virginia Private College Week program as they begin their college search. This year's sessions will take place July 25-30
Marymount and most of the other CICV-member colleges and universities will hold daily information sessions and tours at 9 a.m.
and 2 p.m., Monday-Friday,
and 9 a.m. on Saturday
(full schedule available at www.virginiaprivatecolleges.org
). Rising high school juniors and seniors, as well as prospective transfer students, and their families are invited. The sessions will cover academic programs, admission policies, financial aid, and campus life. Students visiting three or more campuses will receive a waiver allowing them to apply to any three of the participating colleges for free
-- a significant savings! Students simply pick up a "passport" at the first school visited, and get it stamped after each campus tour.
Each of Virginia's private colleges provides a unique combination of attributes. What they have in common is a commitment to teaching excellence and a focus on helping each student achieve his or her educational and career goals.
Virginia residents should note that full-time undergraduate students attending a CICV institution in 2011-12 are eligible to receive a Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG). The Commonwealth’s private colleges and universities also offer generous financial aid packages that include a variety of need- and merit-based scholarships.
