On January 23, The Dominion Guild of Northern Virginia presented a check for $12,500 to Marymount University to begin endowing a scholarship that will benefit students from northern Virginia. Vicki Kirkbride, chair of the Guild’s Projects Committee, explains, “Funding the scholarship is a two-year process. The Guild will be providing additional funding next year to fully endow the scholarship. We’re excited that this scholarship will help deserving students realize their college dreams for years to come.”
The Dominion Guild has been raising funds through an annual Open House with holiday boutiques for more than 20 years and distributing the proceeds to qualifying nonprofit organizations serving the northern Virginia community.
Accepting the check, Marymount University President Matthew D. Shank noted, “Marymount is proud to be an integral part of the northern Virginia community, and we are grateful to the Dominion Guild for this new scholarship, which will help local students achieve their educational goals.”PHOTO CAPTION
