Katelyn Fischer Named CAC Player of the Week
York, Pa. – Marymount University senior Katelyn Fischer was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Fischer led the Saints to a 2-1 record on the week and helped the Blue and White remain undefeated in CAC action.
Opening the week with a setback to Virginia Wesleyan, Fischer scored 13 points to go with six rebounds, four steals and three assists. She converted three of her five attempts from three-point range against the Marlins.
Fischer added 23 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds in a win over in-state rival Randolph-Macon later in the week. Against the Yellow Jackets, she shot 8-for-14 from the floor and 3-for-4 from downtown.
Closing out the week with a CAC win at St. Mary’s (Md.), Fischer scored 18 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and three steals. She remained sizzling from the field, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor.
On the week, Fischer averaged 18 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.7 steals per game. She shot 47.2 percent from the floor and a hot 58.3% from beyond the arc.
