Women’s Volleyball Extends Winning-Streak to Six with Win at Shenandoah
Winchester, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s volleyball team won its sixth-straight match with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-14) road victory over Shenandoah on Wednesday night. The Saints move to 7-3 on the season and hand the Hornets their first loss of the year.
Reigning Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week Jenn Forbes led the Saints with 16 kills while hitting at a stellar .520 clip. She added a season-high eight blocks in the win.
Erin Allison added 11 kills for MU with Morgan McAlpin, Johanna Hummel and Emily Shultis each chipping in six.
Melissa Warren paced the Saints offense with 35 assists and added three blocks at the net.
Allison and Cassidie Watson both logged three service aces on the night. As a team, the Saints recorded 10.
Defensively, Michelle McCormick led all players with 16 digs with Brianne Fitzpatrick adding 10.
Marymount returns to action this weekend as it travels to play at the Neumann Invitational. The Saints battle Pitt-Bradford and Widener on Friday before facing Penn State-Berks and Marywood on Saturday.
