Women’s Swimming Defeats Frostburg State
Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University’s women’s swimming team closed out the regular season with a 129-54 victory over Frostburg State on Saturday. The Saints won 10 of the 11 events and improve to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the Capital Athletic Conference.
Anna Macedonia, Emily Wagner, Meghan Morch and Katie Moran opened the day with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:14.36. Katie Scott followed suit with a victory in the 800 Freestyle in 10:17.44 while Katie Martocci won the 200 Free in 2:28.56.
Adding to the win totals, Macedonia topped the 50 Free in 27.98 before Morch won the 200 IM with a time of 2:45.19 and the 100 Butterfly in 1:15.16.
Moran won the 100 Free in 1:06.16, Kelly Labriola won the 100 Backstroke in 1:19.44 and Kim Rizzo topped the 400 Free in 4:53.46 by more than 30 seconds.
Closing out the meet, the team of Jackie Finn, Scott, Labriola and Rizzo won the 200 Freestyle Relay in 2:11.26.
Marymount returns to action at the CAC Championships, hosted by St. Mary’s (Md.) from February 19-20.
