Women’s Soccer Tops Wesley in CAC Action
Dover, Del. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team evened its Capital Athletic Conference record with a 2-1 victory on the road at Wesley on Friday night. The Saints improve to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The Saints were outshot 9-2 in the first half by the Wolverines and found themselves down 1-0 at the break.
Coming out of halftime, the Blue and White reversed the pressure and knotted the game at 1-1 on a Kirsten Campbell goal in the 57th minute. The Saints would then knock home the eventual game-winner in the 75th minute on a shot from Kailyn Henson that careened off the opposite goalpost and rolled into the back of the net.
In goal, April Westmark picked up the victory while collecting eight saves in goal.
