Men’s Swimming Falls to St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s City, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s swimming team dropped its season opener 126-72 to St. Mary’s (Md.) in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday. The Saints won three events in the meet, including a pair of individual heats by freshman Michael Yelmgren.
Opening the meet with a win in the 200 IM Medley, the foursome of Ryan Kilmon, Greg Schumaker, Yelmgren and Brian Tinsman topped the competition with a time of 1:46:16. The Saints won the event by more than nine seconds over the Seahawks.
Yelmgren would pick up his first individual win in the 200 IM, posting a time of 2:09:10. He would add another victory in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:03:79 for the Saints.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday, November 6, at York (Pa.) against the host Spartans and Washington & Lee.
