Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team fell 2-0 to visiting Richard Stockton on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Saints even their season record to 2-2 before kicking off league play next week.
Richard Stockton (4-0-0) would notch its first goal in the 13th minute before adding another in the 35th before going silent the rest of the way. Freshman keeper Victoria Wyand collected three saves in the first half.
After falling behind two goals after the first 45 minutes of play, Marymount switched up the goalkeepers and put junior Gaby Prellezo between the pipes. With Prellezo manning the net, the Saints held the Ospreys scoreless the remainder of the game while Prellezo hauled in three saves.
The Saints were held to just three shots in the loss as Katie Hamelin, Julie Fioramonti and Hannah Boswell were all credited with attempts.
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday as it opens up Capital Athletic Conference play against Wesley at 8 p.m.
