Women’s Swimming Fourth at CAC Championships
St. Mary’s City, Md. – Marymount University’s women’s swimming team fell to fourth place at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday. The Saints have scored 246 points through 12 events and trail Mary Washington, St. Mary’s (Md.) and now Salisbury.
Anna Macedonia added her second victory of the championships, posting a 57.21 in the 100 Backstroke. Her time also broke her own school record in the event.
Also solid on the day, Kim Rizzo place fourth in the 400 IM at 4:41.87 and the 800 Freestyle relay team of Katie Moran, Katie Martocci, Kelly Labriola and Katie Scott also finished fourth with a time of 8:28.31.
The 200 Medley Relay squad of Macedonia, Emily Warner, Meghan Morch and Martocci also placed fourth at 1:56.45.
Marymount returns to action on Sunday to close out the CAC Championships. The Saints take part in the preliminary heats at 10 a.m. before heading to the finals at 6 p.m.
