Paige Pierson netted her ninth goal of the season, and sixth in the last three, on a penalty kick in the second half. Pierson, the reigning CAC Offensive Player of the Week, has scored in six of the Saints’ (3-4, 2-2 CAC) seven games this year.
The Bobcats (7-1, 2-0 CAC) rode a hat-trick performance by league-leading scorer Amanda Wharton to victory. Cassie Donahue added a pair while Heather Fleishell and Liz Seligman each contributed a goal.
Gaby Prellezo collected four saves for MU in the opening frame before Candice Lane pulled in five in the second half.
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday, September 28, at Mary Washington in CAC play. Originally a home game for the Saints, the contest was rescheduled to Fredericksburg because of unplayable field conditions.
