Erin Allison Named CAC Player of the Week
York, Pa. – Marymount University women’s volleyball sophomore Erin Allison was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Allison led the Saints to a 3-0 record on the week en route to their first 20 win season since 2006.
On the week, Allison averaged 2.80 kills, 3.60 digs and 0.40 blocks per set while hitting .250 from the outside. She added five service aces as well.
Opening the week with a thrilling 3-2 victory over York, Allison posted a double-double with 14 kills and 24 digs. With the win, the Saints remained undefeated in CAC action at 3-0, clinched a berth in the conference tournament for the first time since 2009 and moved into a tie for the top spot of the league standings.
Over the weekend, Allison added six kills in just two sets in a 3-0 sweep over John Jay. She also logged eight kills with 11 digs and five service aces in a 3-1 win against Rutgers-Camden.
Allison’s POW nod is the second of the season for a Marymount player. Jenn Forbes earned CAC weekly honors for the week of September 10.
Marymount (20-6, 3-0 CAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts CAC foe St. Mary’s (Md.) to the Verizon Sports Arena for its annual Dig Pink match.
