Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s lacrosse team earned IWLCA Division III Academic Squad honors for the 2013 season, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association on Thursday. The Saints posted a cumulative 3.14 GPA and were one of 86 DIII schools to earn the award, given to all programs that collected a 3.0 GPA or higher.
In addition, rising seniors Chelsea Ritter and Lindsay Bullock were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Just 382 student-athletes from 67 different institutions earned the individual accolade by posting at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through their junior year.
Ritter compiled a 3.888 cumulative GPA including a 3.95 as a junior. Bullock posted a 3.934 GPA over the course of her first three years at Marymount including a perfect 4.0 as a junior.
Marymount went 7-8 overall in 2013 and made a repeat trip the CAC Tournament while four Saints garnered All-CAC recognition. The Saints seven wins were the most since 2008 and the four All-CAC selections were the most in program history.
