York, Pa. – Marymount University senior Anna Macedonia was named the Capital Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Macedonia won all three of her individual events and teamed for a victory in her lone relay event in a conference victory over York (Pa.).
The reigning CAC Swimmer of the Year, Macedonia opened the day with a win in the 400 medley relay. Swimming the first leg, the Saints posted a time of 4:17.62 to win by nearly 10 seconds and almost 20 second faster than the top Spartans team.
Continuing her dominance, Macedonia won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.02 and the 200 backstroke by over 12 seconds with a time of 2:15.51. She closed out her day with a victory in the 200 IM at 2:15.77.
Marymount defeated YCP 165-97 and moved to 2-1 on the year and 2-1 in CAC action. The Saints return to competition in two weeks at the Randolph-Macon Invitational.
