Volleyball Sweeps Wesley

Dover, Del. – Marymount University’s volleyball team picked up a key Capital Athletic Conference road win with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-18) victory over Wesley on Thursday night. The Saints shutout is the second over the Wolverines this season.

Controlling the match from the opening serve, the Saints (9-15, 2-4 CAC) led the entire way save for an 8-8 tie in the third set.

Marymount rejected seven Wolverine attacks while sophomore outside hitter Sharda Braxton took part in five of them. Senior libero Chelsea Gates paced the Saints back row with a team-high 13 digs.

Gates also chimed in with three service aces while sophomore outside hitter Michelle McCormick tallied five kills.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday, October 16, with a tri-match at Bridgewater (Va.) against the host Eagles and Guilford.
