Chestertown, Md. – Marymount University’s volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-19) non-conference victory over Washington (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. The Saints move to 4-9 overall on the season.
In a spread out attack, Jenn Forbes led the Saints with nine kills at a solid .368 hitting percentage while Johanna Hummel added seven. Both Erin Allison and Christine Gallart chipped five kills apiece as Emily Shultis and Melissa Warren both tallied four.
Defensively, Michelle McCormick led all players with 14 digs while Warren and Gallart had three blocks each.
The Saints outhit the Shorewomen (7-5) in all three sets, including a sharp .333 in the third frame. Conversely, Washington never hit over .100 in any stanza and was held to a negative attack in the second.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to face defending Capital Athletic Conference champions Frostburg State.
