Jessie Daley Named CAC Athlete of the Week
York, Pa. – Marymount University freshman Jessie Daley was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after a strong showing in a pair of races last week. Daley becomes the first Saints cross country student-athlete to collect runner of the week accolades in program history.
Opening her career at the Shenandoah Quint at Kernstown Battlefield, Daley finished third overall and was the top CAC runner in the race.
Delivering another solid outing later in the week, Daley placed 17th at the Sea Gull Opener in Salisbury, Md. Competing against mixed division competition that included NCAA Division I, II and II opponents, she clocked a time of 23:43 to top the Marymount 6K record by more than two and a half minutes.
