Holmes, Pa. – Marymount University’s men’s lacrosse team is slated to play in The HEADstrong Foundation’s 6th Annual Nicholas Colleluori Fall Men's Lacrosse Classic on Sunday, October 7, at Ridley High School in Folsom, Pa. The prestigious event is dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of HEADstrong founder Nicholas Colleluori while promoting the importance of community, family and sportsmanship within the game.
From its inception the Nicholas Colleluori Classic has become a tradition in the sport of lacrosse. Now in its 6th year, this special charity event presented by the HEADstrong Foundation has seen over $1,000,000 generated in their fight against blood cancer.
The event includes 24 collegiate men's lacrosse programs, 10,000 supporters and a large group of volunteers, all of whom will descend on Nick's home field, Ridley High School, to be part of the 6th annual classic. The Saints will take on Richard Stockton and Widener in the event.
“Having played with some great Ridley alums, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to support the HEADStrong Foundation,” Saints head coach Jon Reynolds said. “I’ve been fortunate to have coached a player who survived his bout with cancer and am excited we are able to support such a great cause. Unfortunately we still have some alumni and parents that are fighting battles with cancer and we will do our best to honor them with our involvement in this tournament.”
Recent Marymount Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Matt Murray is a Ridley alum as well as former MU standouts Brian Pot and Karl Lee Kuhlberg.
The event will be streamed via AccessLacrosse.com
