Wednesday, January 30, 2013
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball remained in the hunt for a Capital Athletic Conference postseason bid with a 67-44 victory over visiting York (Pa.) on Wednesday evening. The Saints improve to 7-14 overall and 2-6 in league play.

Antonio Rouse led the Saints with 12 points while Reed Scott added 10. Scott paced MU on the boards with six rebounds and rejected a pair of shots.

Rouse added a game-best four assists in the win.

York (7-13, 2-6 CAC) opened the game on a 7-2 run and held the lead for first half of the opening frame. Down 14-9 with 12 minutes remaining, the Saints put together a 16-3 run over the next eight minutes to go up by eight up 25-17 with just over four minutes to play. Marymount would lead by as many as 12 points in the stanza before taking a 32-22 advantage into halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Saints pushed their lead to 15 before the Spartans managed a brief comeback attempt. York pulled within seven down 44-37 with 8:49 remaining before Rouse closed the door on any idea of a comeback with back-to-back three-pointers that kicked off a 13-0 run and put the game away for the Blue and White.

Jeremy Skoloda led York with 13 points.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Saturday as it travels to face CAC rival Mary Washington.
