Women’s Swimming Splits at Double Dual Meet
Lexington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s swimming team split a pair of contests at a road double dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell to host Washington & Lee 156-101 but edged Catholic 132-129.
Casey Thomas led the Saints with a trio of medalist finishes on the day. Individually she placed second in both the 100 and 200 freestyles with time of 57.33 and 2:04.09, respectively, while teaming with Jackie Finn, Lea Mazzoccoli and Taylor Hood for a second place showing in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:02.30.
Kim Rizzo and Bridget Wunderly both added a pair of top-three finishes. Rizzo won the 200 with a time of 2:25.07 and placed second in the 500 freestyle in 5:36.31. Wunderly won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.43 while placing third in the 1000 freestyle in 11:38.09.
Katie Moran also claimed a top-three finish, swimming a 57.94 in the 100 freestyle to place third overall.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Howard.
