Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team dropped a hard-fought 53-52 decision to Frostburg State in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night. The Saints fall to 5-19 and 1-14 in league play.

Timothy Brisco led the Saints with 13 points while Jesse Konadu added 12 and Reed Scott had 10. John Magnani paced MU with 11 rebounds while Scott narrowly missed out on his third-straight double-double with nine boards.

Frostburg State (13-11, 10-5 CAC) took the early lead with an opening three-pointer and led for the majority of the first half. Trailing by as many as eight in the frame, the Saints rallied back to knot things up at 14-14 with five minutes to play before eventually going into halftime down 23-22 on a buzzer-beating three-pointer.

In the second stanza, the Bobcats kept pace and pushed their lead to double-figures with 8:29 to play at 44-34. The Saints would battle back courtesy of a 13-13 run to knot things up at 47-47 with five minutes remaining. Down the stretch, MU pulled within one point with 1:29 on the clock but neither squad scored the rest of the way as FSU held on to the 53-52 victory.

Maurice Williams led the Bobcats with a game-high 24 points.
