Women’s Volleyball Earns Split at Neumann Invitational
Aston, Pa. – Marymount University’s women’s volleyball team went 2-2 over the weekend at the Neumann Invitational. The Saints dropped a pair of matches to open the tournament on Friday before returning to sweep both their foes on Saturday to salvage the split.
On Friday, the Saints fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-18) to Eastern before dropping a 3-1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 33-31) decision to the host Knights. Marymount’s final set of the day was the second time this season it had battled in an extended frame over 30 points each.
Returning to the court on Saturday, the Blue and White put together impressive sweeps over Rutgers-Camden and Widener. The Saints defeated the Scarlet Raptors 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) and topped the Pride 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-14) to move to 5-6 on the season.
