York, Pa. – Marymount University junior goalkeeper Derek DiGiovanni was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defense Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. DiGiovanni led the Saints to a pair of wins on the week as the Blue and White improved to 4-1 on the season.
Opening the week with a road victory at Gwynedd-Mercy, DiGiovanni hauled in 15 saves while allowing just six goals in Marymount’s 9-6 win. He added a caused turnover in the win.
Closing out the week with a 13-6 win over visiting Southwestern, DiGiovanni pulled in another 13 saves while allowing just five goals. He added a caused turnover and three ground balls as the Saints remained unbeaten at home on the year.
