The Human Resource Leadership Awards (HRLA), founded in 2001 by local business leaders and Marymount University, are the only independent awards that promote and advance excellence in the HR profession in the greater Washington, DC, area by:
- recognizing individuals and teams that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and strategic vision within the HR field, and
- providing scholarships to HR leaders of the future.
The 2011 award categories are: Ethics, Innovation, Leadership, Mentoring, Social Responsibility, and Strategic Alignment. HRLA will also recognize emerging leaders and award scholarships to students pursuing HR degrees.

Winners, finalists, emerging leaders and scholarship recipients will be announced on June 14, 2011, at the HR Leadership Awards Gala at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, as well as in a special pullout section of the Washington Business Journal.
