LOCATION: CARUTHERS HALL, ROOM 1021
Marymount is holding a
Transit of Venus Star-Watch Party to witness Venus pass across the sun's face. This event will happen only ONCE in our lifetimes, with the next occurrence not until 2117!
There will be activities for all ages, including looking through a telescope at the sky above and wearing cool solar-filter sunglasses. Dr. Eric Bubar, assistant professor of Physical Sciences, will explain the importance of this event and provide many fun facts.
At the end of the viewing, you will receive a certificate of accomplishment. Remember, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that shouldn’t be missed.
Bring friends, your family, or come solo to enjoy this rare sight!
This event was organized by Marymount's Conference Center.
