Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant Program (VTAGP) offers to full-time graduate degree-seeking students, who are legal residents of the state and enrolled in a Health related program of study, a tuition grant, regardless of need. Applications, which are available from the Financial Aid Office, must be submitted annually by July 31. Late applications will be considered if funds are available. There is no requirement for repayment. This program is funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

William G. McGowan Scholarship Fund for Disadvantaged Students
Awarded annually to full-time students with financial need, the scholarship was established in 1995 with a grant from the William G. McGowan Foundation in memory of Mr. McGowan, founder of MCI, who believed in creating educational opportunities to develop the gifts and talents of the young. Care First Scholarship for Nursing Education Students
Full-time M.S.N. students in Nursing Education are eligible to apply for the Care First Scholarship, offering $40,000 a year to cover tuition and other expenses. In exchange for the scholarship, the student must commit to working as a nurse educator in a higher education institution in DC, Virginia, or Maryland for three years after graduation. Contact:

Virginia Nursing Scholarship Program
The scholarships are open to full-time or part-time master’s and doctoral nursing students enrolled in a graduate nursing program in Virginia . Priority will be given to master’s degree candidates who will teach in community colleges. Scholarship recipients must complete their degree requirements within two years and teach at a Virginia school of nursing as a condition of accepting the scholarship.
Students chosen for the highly competitive scholarships will receive $20,000 per year, for up to two years, while completing graduate coursework.

HR Leadership Scholarship
A $3,000 scholarship awarded annually to a graduate student pursuing a degree in the huma n resource field. Sponsored by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington. Applicants must maintain a B average. Contact: Office of Corporate Outreach, School of Business Administration
