Study Away: Vegas -- Spring 2015

Sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences and The Center for Global Education, this intensive one-credit class will teach students about the fashion supply chain and global sourcing through a four-day study tour at the SOURCING at MAGIC International Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. This career-focused course will provide a unique opportunity to gain real-world, hands-on professional experience. Through classes and workshops at the Center for Career Services, students will learn how to harness the benefits of their experience to advance their professional and academic goals.
The world’s most comprehensive fashion sourcing event, SOURCING at MAGIC is where brands, designers and sourcing executives gain access to global resources spanning the entire supply chain. Through participation in a one-of-a-kind conference series, students will benefit from insight into new trends, innovative technologies, and important industry intelligence. Students will also learn the ins and outs of the business side of fashion, network with industry insiders, discover possible job opportunities, and learn about the global impact of the fashion industry.

*The program fee does not include textbooks, personal expenses, some meals, extra baggage and airline fees for flight deviations, cancellations, change fees, etc.
**The Center for Global Education will register selected students for this course class after accepted students submit a signed Acceptance of Participation Form. Full-time students do not need to pay additional tuition for this course provided they are registered for no more than 18 credits during the spring semester, including this course. Full-time students enrolled in more than 18 credits are subject to over-enrollment fees.
