Gayle Smith Wilson

Gayle Smith Wilson, the seventh head women’s soccer coach at Marymount University, is in her seventh season with the Saints in 2011. Her overall record at Marymount is 27-67-4.

Wilson played her collegiate soccer at the University of Virginia. She was a member of the US Women’s National Soccer Team from 1990-92 and a part of the USASA Women’s National Select Team from 1993-2002. Wilson went through the Washington Freedom training camp in 2001 and was part of the USISL Washington Mustangs Men’s Professional Soccer team in 1995.

Prior to arriving at Marymount, Wilson has most recently coached with the VYSA Olympic Development Program as the Northern District Head Coach and State Head Coach. She also has coached the DC United U15 Girls Super Y League as an assistant. In addition, she has been director of player development for the Arlington Player Development and a head coach for the Washington Area Girls Soccer and National Capital Soccer League.

Wilson was VYSA Coach of the Year in 2004 and is part of the MDCVSA Soccer Hall of Fame. She was named All-Atlantic Coast Conference in college and was also tabbed All-Region. Wilson was a nominee for the Hermann Award in 1989, the oldest annual trophy given to the top collegiate male and female soccer players. Following her senior year at McLean High School she was named the Virginia High School Player of the Year.

Wilson holds Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from the University of Virginia. She also has a National License from USSF. She is married and has a daughter.


Kim Germain

Kim Germain is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Marymount University women’s soccer team in 2011. A former Division I All-American, she brings extensive playing experience to the Saints sidelines.

A four year letterwinner at James Madison University, Germain earned NSCAA Third Team All-America accolades as a junior in 2007. She also earned numerous All-Colonial Athletic Association honors as well as multiple All-Region nods by the NSCAA, Soccer Buzz and VaSID and was on the Hermann Trophy watch list as a senior.

Germain’s Dukes teams collected a total of 54 wins in her tenure including a school-record 17 victories in 2007. She started all four years during her time in Harrisonburg and finished her career seventh all-time on the JMU career assists list with 22 and was 20th all-time in career points with 42.

Following her collegiate playing career, Germain spent time at training camps with the Washington Freedom in 2009 and the New Jersey Sky Blue in 2010. She also attended the U-23 National Team camp in 2009.

Germain earned her B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management from James Madison in 2009. A local product, she was an All-State and All-Met performer at nearby Langley High School. Germain also serves as the head coach of The Madeira School and an assistant coach with the U12 Annandale Xtreme.

Curtis Wilson is in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the Marymount University women’s soccer team.

Wilson is the Girls Technical Director for Arlington Travel Soccer and coaches in WAGS and NCSL. He also serves as an ODP State and Regional Staff coach and holds his USSF National “B” License.

Prior to coaching, Wilson played for USISL Northern Virginia Royals.
