Ashlee Courter is in her third season as the head coach of the Marymount University women’s basketball program. A former standout on the hardwood for the Saints, Courter replaced long-time MU head coach Bill Finney who she played for as a student-athlete from 2000-04
In her first season with the Saints, Courter led MU to a second place regular season finish in the Capital Athletic Conference and a spot in the CAC Tournament semifinals. Under her tutelage, senior Maame Amponsah earned CAC Player of the Year honors and tied for the national lead in rebounding. In addition, senior Amanda Billy set the single game scoring record at Marymount and broke Courter’s own record for career three-pointers made.
Prior to returning to Marymount, Courter was the head coach at Franklin & Marshall for four years and led the Diplomats to the 2008 Centennial Conference regular season championship and made its first post-season tournament in five years. Her 2007-08 squad recorded the best turnaround in program history, winning 13 more games than the previous season.
In addition to her basketball coaching duties, Courter served as facilitator for F&M seminars on leadership and preventing sexual assault. She was also the assistant softball and assistant golf coach.
Prior to working at Franklin & Marshall, Courter was the assistant basketball coach and assistant softball coach at Gettysburg College for two years.
Courter was a standout player at Marymount as the Saints continued their run as one of the top teams in the nation in the beginning of the decade. Her teams made four-straight NCAA postseason appearances including the Final Four in 2002, the Elite 8 in 2003, and two other Sweet 16s. She was a four-year starter and two-year captain, a two-time All-Capital Athletic Conference player, a CAC Scholar-Athlete, and the conference's Unsung Hero in 2002.
A 2003 Marymount alum, Courter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education. She also has a Master of Science in Special Education from McDaniel College.
Julie Freeman-Moore is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Marymount University women’s basketball team. She is primarily responsible for post player development and will serve as an academic adviser for the team.
Freeman-Moore brings experience from all three NCAA divisions to the Saints sidelines. She began her coaching career as an assistant at D-III Plattsburgh State before moving on to the D-I ranks as an assistant at Army. Returning to the court, Freeman-Moore spent three seasons as a player/coach for FoKoPo in Forssa, Finland and with the New York Gazelle travel team before spending a season as a volunteer assistant at D-II Armstrong Atlantic State.
A four year starter at North Carolina-Greensboro, Freeman-Moore was a two-time Second Team All-Big South selection. She scored over 1,000 points and grabbed over 750 rebounds in her career and posted the first triple-double in program history for the Spartans.
Freeman-Moore earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from UNCG in 1996 and a Master of Science in Counseling Education from C.W. Post in 1999.

Katrina Reed is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Marymount University women’s basketball team. She will be primarily responsible for guard development and recruiting duties in Virginia and New Jersey.
Reed comes to the Saints after a four-year stint at former Capital Athletic Conference rival Catholic. While at CUA, she was a part of a Cardinal squad that made history with its first Landmark Conference Championship in 2012. That year, the team also reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the history of the program and helped coach a number of All-Conference and All-Region players.
Reed played collegiately at Elmira College, helping the Soaring Eagles to one of the best seasons in program history as a junior in 2006-07. The squad earned its first-ever Empire 8 Regular Season Championship, shattered the college's consecutive win streak with 13 wins and tallied the second most wins in the history of the program with 21. Reed went on to be named the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year in her senior season. In addition to her playing career, Reed also served as an assistant coach with the Elmira junior varsity program for two years.
A Chandler, Ariz., native, Reed earned her bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in journalism from Elmira in 2008 and her master's degree in secondary education from Catholic in 2012. She and her husband Joe, an assistant on the Marymount men’s basketball staff, reside in Alexandria, Va.
