Service and social justice are integral parts of the Catholic tradition, which includes welcoming people of all backgrounds and faiths.
At Marymount, that tradition is honored every day, as students spread out into the community to take part in activities that put their faith into action.
MU students consistently reach out into the national capital region – tutoring children in schools, delivering food to homeless shelters, staffing a health-screening clinic at a local church, and cleaning up parks.
During Spring Break, while some college students head to the beach, many Marymount students journey to destinations like Kentucky, New York City, and the Dominican Republic, where they spend the week helping communities in need. Their days are filled with meaningful work; their evenings, with prayer and fellowship.
All of this service does not go unnoticed. Marymount University has been named to the
President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for three consecutive years!
