Marymount University’s Malek School of Health Professions is a recognized leader in the education of skilled, compassionate health care professionals. More than one-sixth of Marymount’s students – approximately 600 men and women – are enrolled in the Malek School’s undergraduate and graduate programs in Health and Human Performance, Nursing, and Physical Therapy. The School also offers two doctoral programs: the clinical Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Nursing Practice.
The Malek School is located in Caruthers Hall, Marymount’s new, high-tech academic building, which opened in January 2011. In addition to classrooms and faculty offices, the building houses nine science teaching labs; five science research labs; and five health-science teaching labs, including the William Randolph Hearst Nursing Laboratory, which simulates an acute-care hospital setting.
Marymount’s Malek School of Health Professions has affiliations with the national capital area’s leading health care organizations – including the Inova Health System, Children’s National Medical Center, Virginia Hospital Center, and many others. Located near the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, it provides students with outstanding clinical experiences and professional connections that open the doors to career success.
