All Graphic Design majors will complete an internship in the senior year. The Washington, DC, area offers a rich array of opportunities. Internship sites have included

  • USA Today Weekend
  • Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts
  • Smithsonian Institution
  • The Kennedy Center
  • Major corporations, nonprofits, and institutions in the greater Washington area
  • Design firms
  • Advertising agencies
  • Public relations firms
You may also wish to complete your internship overseas through Marymount’s study abroad program, coordinated through the Center for Global Education.

Marymount’s program can prepare you for a challenging job market. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Keen competition for jobs is expected; individuals with a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of computer design software, particularly those with Web site design and animation experience will have the best opportunities.”
