The graphic design program at Marymount will immerse you in the study of the entire range of visual communication for publication, branding, websites, promotional campaigns, and interactive experiences.
A study of conceptual problem solving, critical thinking and formal designs as well as branding and marketing strategies. If you are artistically inclined, a whiz on the computer, or write well this is a degree program you can excel in. Our courses cover typography, illustration, photography, editorial design, website design, and video production. A semester long internship builds experiential learning so our graduates can work for design firms, advertising agencies, publishers, corporations, nonprofits and government agencies.
Recognizing that design is a cultural force that spans consumer commerce and social causes design projects build on strength of concept, impact, methodology used and the success of formal execution and aesthetics.
MU's location offers Graphic Design majors plenty of opportunities to complete their required internship and pursue careers in government, corporate, and community agencies.
Choose an emphasis
Majors have the opportunity to choose an emphasis in Visual Communication or Web Design. It is also recommended to choose a minor in an area of interest.
