The International Experience
The Honors Program curriculum strikes a balance of seminars, tutorials, and lectures that fits the intimate educational environment of Marymount University, pays tribute to the Liberal Arts tradition of Oxford and Cambridge, and prepares MU students for graduate and professional school.
To reinforce this and to provide a global perspective for Marymount Honors students, the Honors Program offers 10 tuition scholarships every summer for a six-week study tour at the University of Oxford.
In MU’s Summer Oxford Program, students take six academic credits, three of which are with an Oxford faculty member in a Traditional or Advanced Tutorial. They also travel in sponsored trips to London, Stratford, Windsor, and other British sites as well as embark on independent travel throughout Europe. Some Marymount students choose to spend an entire semester abroad studying at Oxford or schools throughout Europe and Asia.
The Honors Program director can give guidance about study abroad options. Marymount’s Center for Global Education is available to help students explore programs and facilitate plans as well.
