DISCOVER Graduate Study

Once you’ve learned how to learn , you may apply those skills in a profession. In some fields, a bachelor’s degree—the mark of an educated generalist—is sufficient to launch a satisfying career. Other jobs require a specialist’s knowledge, either as an admission ticket or a “fastpass” to promotion over other candidates.

Choosing an undergraduate major is the first step toward specialization. Graduate study builds on that disciplinary training.

Your Marymount professors can give you good advice about graduate school. Other sources of support on campus include the Center for Career Services and the DISCOVER Center. Here we can help you find professors interested in teaming up for summer research and help you communicate your strengths through writing. Keep an eye out for information sessions and workshops.
