Salisbury, Md. – Marymount University’s women’s basketball team earned another Capital Athletic Conference victory with a 67-48 win over Salisbury on Wednesday evening. The Saints improve to 19-4 overall on the season and 9-1 in league play.

Katelyn Fischer led the Saints with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a 4-for-5 performance from three-point range. She added five assists and three steals in the win for the Blue and White.

Tynisha Parks posted yet another double-double, her eighth of the season, with 21 points and 11 rebounds. She added four steals to tie a team-high with fellow Saint Miranda Krott.

A close first half started off slow with host Salisbury (10-11, 4-5 CAC) holding a slim lead for the first 13 minutes of action. With the game tied at 16-16 with just under five minutes remaining in the half, the Saints put together a 15-7 run down the stretch to take a 31-21 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Sea Gulls hit the opening basket to pull within six but Marymount would respond with a 10-0 run to go back ahead by double-figures. The Saints led by as many as 21 in the game before posting the 19-point victory.

Marymount was dominant down low, outscoring the Sea Gulls 48-14 in the paint. The Saints also converted 26 Salisbury turnovers into 32 points, including 16 on fast breaks behind 17 team steals.

Courtney McManus led Salisbury with 15 points.
