Lynchburg, Va. – Marymount University junior goalkeeper Kiki Niebuhr was named VaSID College Division Second Team All-State, as announced by the Virginia Sports Information Directors on Thursday. Niebuhr was previously named Second Team All-Capital Athletic Conference this season as well.
A Westminster, Md., product, Niebuhr won all seven games on the year for the Saints and was second in the league with 156 saves. Her 47.7 save percentage was fourth best in the CAC and she was tabbed CAC Defensive Player of the Week once this season.
Niebuhr earned the Saints third shutout in program history in the season opener and collected double-figure saves nine times, including a career-high 21. She ranked 32nd overall in NCAA Division III in saves, 30th in saves per game and 55th in save percentage.
Marymount went 7-8 overall in 2013 and earned a repeat trip to the CAC Tournament. The Saints return 21 letterwinners in 2014, including Niebuhr.
